I ended the relationship today. No “it’s not you it’s me.” No excuses. Just honesty about no future. Mistakes have been made, and now I’m walking away. I’m trying hard not to feel sad, but I am.
I need to update my “It Hurts” playlist.
The interview will be rescheduled. Apparently they had an internal conflict. Oh well.
On Thursday I had an incredibly productive day. I sorted through several months of paperwork, filled out and sent in a few forms, contacted my bank about a couple of things, and checked on the re-titling process of my car. I also managed to get my haircut, buy a new bookshelf and groceries, assemble the bookshelf, and rearrange my room. I’ll show you pictures at some point.
Dating can be tricky. I’ve had two dates w/ the current girl, but things can get complicated quickly. When the communication is sporadic it can be hard to know where things are going much less try to direct the course of events.
I read the Book of James this morning. It’s got some good content.
“What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” – James 4:14
I wake up earlier on days I don’t work. Today I woke up early. I showered early and left the house early.
Value stores are awesome. They nicely fill the gap between Wal-Mart/Target and Adverse Poverty. Being in a poor state of mind, I decided to browse around the local value store for furniture and clothing today. I found a bookshelf w/ no shelf-holders, a small TV-stand, and several awesome flannel shirts. However, I bought none of these.
Yay, thou I shop at the value shoppe, I shall buy no things.
I made one exception to the rule today. I bought two country albums from the mid ’90s. I don’t know the names of the albums, but they’re from Tim McGraw and Brooks & Dunn. After road tripping w/ Isaac recently and reading Lefsetz, I felt an urge to sample the music of the country. I figured what better way to do it than with two old albums for $6.50.
After detouring to the lake for a while, I came home and have been listening to punk music all afternoon.
By the way, did I mention my date last Sunday? *peers at the previous posts* Ah, I did! Well, never mind, let’s just say I’m happy about how things are going so far. I called her last night and managed to talk for almost 45 minutes.
Things Thea and I have in common: Lord of the Rings, anime (Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, etc.), Garden State, the Garden State soundtrack, Japanese food, Vanilla Coke.
In any case, that’s one date down and hopefully many more to come. Out of the four dates I’ve been on this year, this relationship is the only one I saw hope for when the date happened. I’ll keep you posted.
I just spent seven hours hanging out with Tron’s sister, watching anime, eating hamburgers, and drinking Vanilla Coke. It was good times.
